SOLID WASTE
Code Enforcement

Megan Abke, Code Enforcement Officer mabke@co.pacific.wa.us

The Pacific County Code Enforcement Program/Officer investigates and resolves solid waste violations, such as illegal dump sites, vehicle abatement, garbage, or noise complaints.  This program serves all unincorporated Pacific County and all incorporated cities within Pacific County.  This part of the program is complaint-based and relies on the public to report such nuisances.  Many of the complaints can be resolved quickly and no further action is needed.  A few, however, do require follow-up and can result in court action and fines if the the problem is not resolved in a timely manner.

The complaints often involve personal property on private land which makes the owners sensitive to what they perceive as overregulated and infringement on their rights.  What they do not understand are the possible health hazards related to an illegal garbage dump that could possibly contaminate nearby water sources, or the piles of cars that are home to rats that may carry disease.

The following links refer to ordinances that are directed to our code enforcement program.

FILING A REPORT

Citizens may file a report about a solid waste concern in person, mail, or by faxing to one of the above listed offices.  Please use the link below and include as much detail as possible about: precise locations, dates, and details to better help us act on the violation.  Once validated, the violator is notified of the corrective action required.  Cases are monitored by our Code Enforcement Officer(s) listed above until they are found to be in compliance, and then the cases are closed.

ANONYMOUS REPORTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
